Palmier $60 is packed in a transparent plastic bag. It is one of the signature items in Fine Foods Cake Shop.
Palmier
is in fact a type of puff pastry made in the shape of a palm leaf and
rolled in sugar. It is normally called Butterfly Pastry in Hong Kong.
It
is very cripsy, light-weighted but not too sweet. Its color has already
implied it is a mouth-watering and delicious pastry. Not because it is
from Royal Garden, it is really and surely distinctive from other
bakeries and other hotel bakeries. We have to thank Mr. Tony Wong, the
Executive Chef of Royal Garden Hotel, for leading the team and
controlling food quality. We also need to thank for the extra large oven
in Royal Garden.
Needless to say, Napoleon is also one of the signature cakes. They are always reserved and out of stock.
This
Napoleon is also not too sweet. The pastry with small amout of syrup on
the top is crispy. Custard is tasty and refreshing. Strawberry on the
bottom is of good quality and not sour. But I would be more delighted if
the fruit is replaced by mango. The cake itself is not small in size.
But it should be too small in my mind.

Fine
Foods Cake Shop (FF) is renowned for its quality delicatessen, namely
cakes, wines and gift items. We specially want to try again the Palmier
and Napoleon cake. We are delighted these two signature items are
deserved to be the top selling items in FF and high quality can still be
maintained. This is the main reason why they are always sold out and
reservation is always needed. If you want to have a try and have tasty
experience, it is suggested to reserve, please.
