Two pieces of Shanghai Crab (Hairy
Crab http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_mitten_crab) are served to
each patron. The weight should be 4-5 taels each. Crabs are served in
two rounds, to ensure that it is still freshly steamed.
Besides, one
piece of Crab Roe Pork Dumpling (Crab Roe Xiao Long Bao) is served to
each patron. I am so sorry I forget to take photo as subconsciously i am
too eager to eat the dumpling.
Fried Shrimp w/ Veggies
It
is nicely presented. Shrimp is not fresh, but the texture is not too
bad. Shrimp is not small in size. It is cooked with butter. I have eaten
one piece only. It is better to let them eat the rest, I would like to
optimize my food intake. Totally there should be about ten pieces.
Roasted Piglet & Jelly Fish
Piglet is still very hot, this is much appreciated. Jelly fish is thick and large in size, and chewy in texture.
This is the portion for one person.
There
are fish maw, dried scallop and peach resin 桃脂 (it is the secretion of
peach tree and has no taste, the texture is like jelly, as shown in the
below.) in clear soup. The taste is not concentrated as no msg has been
added. It is lovely and natural.

Frankly
speaking, there is quite a lot of orange-colored roe in the crab but it
has not been overflowing. It is of course rich in roe flavor and very
creamy in texture. The size should be about four to five taels each and
this should be the best size. There is no need to eat those King or
Queen crabs of 8 taels or more each.
Each patron is served with a small bowl of black vinegar (crab vinegar), enhancing appetite and the flavour of crab meat.
Toast w/ Crab Meat & Roe
One

Fried
Fish (Sole) Fillet w/ Black Fungus, Celery & Shallot. Fish
fillet is bouncy and must not be those low-priced and poor quality ones,
this is the reason for us to visit East Ocean Group again.
Fried Chicken (half bird)
Steamed
Bun Stuffed w/ Lotus Paste & Salted Duck Egg is a stunning
weapon to us. It is freshly steamed, very large in size and impressive
in image.
It is better to be shared. The bun is very spongy and natural in texture and flavor. It is priced at more than $20 each.

We
specially arrange a meal of Shanghai (Hairy) crab in Victoria City
Restaurant tonight. There are not too many patrons at night, it is
nearly seventy percent full. Servers are professional and attentive.
This is the reason for us to choose Victoria City.
We order a
value meal set of Hairy Crab (大閘蟹套餐) for six persons. This should be the
best available in terms of price and content. There are ten items in
the set. The portion must be sufficient for adult. This set is
definitely value for money. But for the toast with crab meat and roe, it
is a bit inferior to the one we tried two years before, in portion and
taste. For other items in the meal, we have no complaint for sure.
