Curry Udon with Sliced pork (Cha Siu)
Curry sauce is nice, it would be better if it is a bit hotter. Sliced pork (Cha Siu) can be better in quality.
Minced Tuna Rice Set is served with hot udon and drinks.
Sesame would enhance overall taste. Rice is of Japanese origin.
Hot Udon is still al dente. Of course, there is room of improvement. From this photo, do you think Yataiya serves authentic Japanese food?

Though Yataiya should be a local Japanese restaurant in Taikoo (we do not think that it has Japanese chef), we do have a try again today. Since there are not many good choices in the vicinity, Yataiya is always full in lunchtime. It is not so at night. It is mainly because during lunchtime, diners are not so picky in the selection of restaurants, provided average spending is not too high.
We order udon and tuna rice set, average spending is about $85. Food portion is not small and they are served in the appropriate manner. Food quality is above average, but it is surely not equivalent to those in authentic Japanese restaurants. If you do not have much expectation on food or whether authentic Japanese foods are served, Yataiya should not be a bad choice.
