Fried Pork with Pineapple is served on an half-pineapple shell. The display is very attractive. A pity is that the meat is not hot enough and taste is not enough as well.
Tung Kwong Chicken is inevitably the best and signature item in TPTKC. Before diners place order, they have already chopped the chicken into pieces which are placed on a plate. If there is an order, the chef would pour hot chicken soup onto the chicken for about 2 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked. This is why the chicken meat tastes very good, but it is still tender. The chicken is surely fresh and not chilled.
Braised Bitter Gourd & Fish Fillet is an oily item.
Fried Mushroom & Tofu is average as well.
Some tables are aligned outside the restaurant and on the pavement.

Tai Po Tung Kwong Chicken (TPTKC) is well known for a long period. It is a pity that we do not have chance to try so far. Today, we originally plan to have a BBQ in Tai Po in the afternoon, but suddenly we change to try Tung Kwong chicken. TPTKC is a typical local Chinese restaurant. The waitresses are mainly ladies of about 50 years old. Hospitable service should not be anticipated. Since the food price level is not high, the whole restaurant is full in the evening. Some tables are aligned outside the restaurant and on the pavement.
We order 4 dishes only. Of course, Tung Kwong chicken (half) is included. The bill is $260 (average per head $52). Tung Kwong chicken is very good in taste and can get nearly full mark. But for other dishes, we are sorry that they are either too oily or not good in taste. Signature dish - Tung Kwong chicken and comparatively low price are the main reasons for its crowdedness in dinnertime. If there is chance, we still want to have another try. It is at any rate restricted to Tung Kwong chicken only. You are also recommended to try this signature chicken.
