Shanghai Restaurant is relatively 'large' in size in Hong Kong.

Sweet
& Sour Spareribs is not large in portion, there are about six
pieces of sparerib. If you know it is priced at thirty five only for the
whole meal set, you would have no more unreasonable demand. It is in
fact freshly fried and prepared for us after we place the order. The
taste is well-balanced, it is also fried with onion, green bell pepper
and pineapple. It is better in taste and quality than in quite a lot of
famous restaurants.

Braised
Yellow Croaker is a typical Shanghai cuisine and it is cooked in Hong
Kong in an authentic cooking style. It is braised with baby bamboo,
sliced pork, green onion and garlic. The reddish brown sauce is a
typical Shanghai sauce.

Though
we do not expect too much about the fish (mainly because of the low
price and we do not know much about this restaurant), it is in fact
quite fresh and there is no trace of fishiness. This is a dish we
appreciate very much. Maybe, the restaurant is quite close to the wet
market downstars and has the location advantage to buy fresh fish.

Plain rice with shredded cabbage is in a generous portion. It is not oily too.

Soup is also included in a meal set of thirty something. In such quality, it is a bit unbelievable in 2011.

Pan-fried
Pork Dumpling is not included in these two meal sets. There are totally
four pieces, served with vinegar. It is slightly pan-fried on the
bottom and not oily, this is the result of cooking with conscience.

Please
look at the yellowish brown juice inside the dumpling and splashed onto
the surface. A normal pan-fried dumpling in Shanghai Restaurant becomes
a delicious one.

Remarks:
We do not know there is such a quality Chinese restaurant serving
authentic Shanghai cuisine at very reasonable price in Mei foo. I am so
sorry, sorry for the late.
This
is an afternoon tea only. In Mei foo, we really do not want to try in
the burger chain shop and we also do not have any other idea. It seems
that there are not too many options. We arbitrarily select a restaurant
on the podium level. Its outlook is presented nicely to us and there are
not too many diners in late afternoon. Strictly speaking, apart from an
auntie in black spectacles, we are the only two diners. We do not
expect how splendid the Chinese afternoon tea will be. If it is a poor
restaurant, it is anyway an attempt at a relatively low price. We do not
have much to lose and do not have much to expect.
We
order two afternoon tea sets (they are in fact lunch meal sets served
till 17:00) and four pieces of pan-fried pork dumpling. It is beyond our
imagination that for such low-priced sets, they also take time to
prepare for us. This is evidenced by the food quality we experience
thereafter. In our mind, if dishes are served to us immediately, we
would still accept. On the contrary, all dishes are served with heart,
immediately prepared for us after we place the order. In view of food
portion, assortment, price and food taste, we can only say we are too
lucky to have selected this Shanghai Restaurant in the afternoon. We
find no reason not to have another try at night. Please wait for our
next dining share.
