Fried Shrimps in Soya Sauce (豉油王大蝦)
It
is always safe to order shrimp dish. There is no need to worry whether
meat texture is not bouncy. When it is served, there is a nice and
impressive smell of soya sauce and fried shrimp. It is definitely
appetizing.
Roe is rich and mouth-watering. We are wise to have ordered this shrimp dish.
Fried Oyster w/ Ginger & Shallot (薑蔥生蠔)We
in fact do not expect oyster would be cooked in such a way. They are
very lazy and use the quickest method to cook. We originally expect it
is cooked with sauce. But now all are fried in oil. It is also oily.
Hakka Braised Pork is cooked with red preserved tofu (客家炆豬肉)It
is cooked with cabbage and black fungus, but it is not authentic in
terms of flavour and presentation. Disregard these factors, it is not
bad. Pork is fresh and definitely not frozen one.
Salted Chicken (鹽焗雞) is average in all aspects.
Fried Bitter Gourd (炒苦瓜)It
is a disappointing dish and not tasty. In this restaurant, all food
materials are cooked by the quickest method, fried in oil. It is not
possible to enhance the natural flavour of food materials. It seems that
the chefs have the sole mission of preparing cooked food in the
shortest possible time. It is a bit ridiculous. Of course, quite a lot
of diners would like this eatery in Sai Kung. But we are not included.
There should be many choices of higher quality elsewhere.

We
are informed to try here. Booking is needed. If not, no table is
available on Sunday. We therefore have expectation on today dinner. It
is the first time for us to dine here, we do not order many dishes of
seafood. Of course, even though it is a famed seafood restaurant and we
have tried before, we also do not order many dishes of seafood. There
should be a balance in the meal.
We
order five dishes, there is no need to wait for a long time for the
first dish to be served. The first fried shrimp is quite good, since
shrimp is fresh enough. Other dishes are average only, mainly because
the chefs do not cook food by heart, imho. What they want to do is serve
dishes to patrons asap, receive money, and serve new patrons. This is
easy to cheat foreigners or some patrons. Overall speaking, dishes
served are very average. The utmost target of this restaurant is to make
quick money, instead of serving delicious dishes to customers. It
should NOT be a restaurant for our re-try.
