The Public Bathhouse was constructed in early 20th Century, it has a history of more than one hundred years.
Second Street Public Bathhouse is a 2-storeyed building in pink outlook. Originally there were male & female bathroom, and male & female toilet. Later, the toilets were dismantled and changed to bathroom. For the male bathroom on the ground floor, there are more than thirty bathing units. Bathing units are lined orderly at both left and right sides of the bathroom.
Second Street Public Bathhouse is located at the junction
of Western Street (西邊街) and Second Street, adjacent to Western District
Community Centre (西區社區中心).
Public bathhouse is open daily from 07:00 to 09:00, and 16:30 to 20:30. Bathing is free of charge.
In Hong Kong, public bathhouses with shower facilities supply hand soap only, while individuals have to bring their own cleaning supplies. Normally, public bathhouses supply cold water only. In winter and for temperature at 20 degree Celsius or below in November each year, hot water will be supplied. Until April next year, for temperature at 7:00am at 25 degree Celsius for three consecutive days, hot water supply will be stopped. Second Street Public Bathhouse
