The Planning Department will host the 'City Impression@Connectivity - From Point to Point’ Exhibition at City Gallery from April 16 to May 19, 2014, showcasing public buses that have been a part of Hong Kong's development.
The exhibition features Hong Kong’s first double-decker bus, a vintage Daimler, introduced in 1949. These buses were introduced after the second world war to help handle the city’s rapid population growth.
There are two old bus models on Edinburgh Place, but they are displayed at different time.
Diorama display
Other exhibits include miniatures of the former Tsim Sha Tsui Railway Terminus and its clock tower, buses travelling in resettlement areas, and point-to-point bus services between public housing estates, illustrating the city’s development.
Apart from informative description about bus evolution in Hong Kong and model demonstration inside exhibition hall, two real old model buses are displayed on Edinburgh Place.
