The most representative houses in Ng Ka Tsuen is No. 4, 5 and 6, which should be the largest and most splendid three houses in the village. These three houses are inhabited and were built in 1930s, namely No. 5 in 1933 and No. 6 in 1935. No. 4 and 5 are declared Graded III Historical Building in 22 January 2010 and 02 September 2011 respectively. They are eighty years old in 2014.

The main entrance is in the middle, in front of No. 5 house. The low and small construction on the left is the water well.

These three houses are protected by parapet. Besides they are two-storeys and their main doors are facing on the same direction, other common features of these three houses are that they have a balcony and two big circular windows on the second floor, each house is symmetrical. It is like a pair of eye, overlooking the happening of the village.

No. 6 House is called Yuk Ching Villa (郁青別墅), which was the name of Mr. Ng Yuk Ching, the founder of Ng Ka Tsuen. The construction of this house is a combination of western and oriental style.

Please note the shape of the roof canopy.

In front of the house, it is still a small piece of farmland.

Inside the house, this is the ground floor, with a courtyard for ventilation.

No. 5 House Yuk Ching New House '郁青新廬' was formerly called Ng's Ancestral Hall '吳氏宗祠'. It is now the temporary village office of Ng Ka Tsuen.

There must be regular maintence and repair. If not, grass can be found on the roof top.

No. 4 House

The main entrance

This should be the guard kiosk or for the villagers to take shelter from sunlight or rain.

This well was constructed in 1933, it was rebuilt in 2003.

Behind this water well, it is now a car park. Originally, before the construction of Tung Wui Road (東匯路), it was a piece of farmland. Villagers of Ng Ka Tsuen would grow crops here. During Chinese New Year (on the first day of the first lunar month), there is a gathering and celebration feast (or Thousand People Poon Choi Feast 千人盆菜宴) on this open area, for the villagers to greet and share. Totally there are one hundred and twenty tables.

Ng Ka Tsuen is bounded by Kam Tin River (錦田河), Tung Wui Road (東匯路) and Kam Sheung Road (錦上路).

It is said that this piece of land will be location of future new public housing estate. It is to be confirmed. I only concern the fate of these three old houses.
