Pak
Lai is in the Northwestern part of Hong Kong. It is divided into Sheung
Pak Nai and Ha Pak Lai (i.e. Upper Pak Nai and Lower Pak Lai).
Ha Pak Nai is partially covered by wetland.
The opposite side is Shekou of Shenzhen, PRC.
It is a nice place to spend an afternoon to escape from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.
It is a paradise for photographers, particulaly when the weather is sunny.
When it is not too sunny, it is the best location to chat and gossip.
There is a temple at the far end.
Pak Nai is very different, in view of the natural environment itself. This is also good for those who do not like hiking. In Pak Nai, the beach (I do not know whether it should be called beach) is large and long particularly if it is low tide. It must be a romantic experience to walk along the beach in the evening.
From Yuen Long town (Tai Fung Street), it takes about half an hour by minibus route no. 33. The fare is HK$9.5.
Snacks and drinks are available.
The minibus terminal is located at Tai Fung Street in Yuen Long, New Territories.
