Jumbo Plaza is bounded by Aberdeen Main Road, ChengTu Road (成都道) and Lok Yeung Street (洛陽街). It was established in 1988. There are totally four storeys, including the basement. Jumbo Plaza is not managed by large company or listed company. Comparatively, its management is not so good as those listed companies. In appearance, Jumbo Plaza is a bit old and renovation should have been carried out at least ten years before. Anyway, it gives me a deep impression that it is a local shopping area.
Though it is not splendidly decorated as other shopping malls in Central and Causeway Bay, it is anyway at least 85% occupied. Maybe, most units have been sold to individual investors and there is high probability that the investors are the shop runners as well. The result is that the shop runners will not be affected by the increase in rental regularly.
Different kinds of products can be found in Jumbo, like
clothes alteration, trendy youth clothing, clinic, beauty salon,
tutorial centre and model shop. Maybe there are not too many shopping
centres in Aberdeen, the population can support the business of most
shop runners. This is also a bit unexpected that the occupation rate of
this plaza is very high.
