At the junction of Canton Road and Dundas Street (登打士街)
in Mongkok, there is a whole block of building in creamy yellow colour.
It was erected in August 1957, this means it has 57 years history in
2014.

It is a 6-storey building. The top floor (6th floor) seems to be a construction added
after the completion.

For an old building of more than 50 years, it should be regarded as in good condition.

A series of windows is found
on both sides facing the streets. This was an old construction style at
that time, for the sake of maximizing usable area and natural light
penetration.

After taking photos of old buildings for a period, it is easier to notice that such outlook should be built over fifty years, no matter whether the building is in Kowloon, Hong Kong island and the New Territories. Maybe, building with no special design or pattern on the outer wall would reduce the production and design cost. At the same time, this can maximize the total usable area.
