Leung Ancestral Hall (梁氏宗祠), being a Declared Monuments in Hong Kong, has a history of about two hundred years. This ancestral hall is a typical construction of Qing Dynasty (清朝). The ancesters of Leung migrated from Guangdong Dongguan (廣東東莞) to the New Territories (新界) in Hong Kong from the 17th to 18th century.

It has a courtyard (天井) in the middle of the construction, while the right chamber (wing-room 廂房) is a kitchen to facilitate food cooking during festivals.

Please note the construction style and outlook should have a history of about one to two hundred years. Similar constructions can be found in Ling Tao Temple (靈渡寺).What a coincidence.

I guess the present construction can be maintained for another thirty years, upon regular maintenance and renovation.

Large scale complete renovation was carried out in 2006. After completion, the ancestral hall resumes its former outlook and function among the community. It continues to be a place for gathering and ancestral customs activities. Grand opening of the renovated ancestral hall was on 29 June 2007.

I am so sorry that these two auspicious animals are very ugly. I really do not know what they are.
