Pang Yu Tai Tea House (彭裕泰茶莊) is located on the ground floor of an old building of more than 80 years. The building is a four-storeys construction. It should be one of the oldest constructions in Bonham Strand. There is another one of similar age in Jervois Street, which will be posted later.
From the appearance, particularly its signage, it is an old shop. Inside
the shop, it is in a mess. I am so sorry to describe in such a way. There
are many stocks of tea leaves (Pu'er) inside the shop, so are miscellaneous
articles. There is no other staff in the shop, there is only Mr. Lee,
who is the owner and salesman. Mr. Lee is a man with character, he likes
to drink tea by himself. Of course, if you are interested and Mr. Lee
has the mood, he will invite you to drink together.

The building is still kept in good condition. At least, it has no hazard of collapse.
It is a retailer and wholesaler of tea leaves from different provinces in China.
The tiles are in old patterns and colours.
There is a veil of dust on the glasss.
All tea stocks are stuck in such a way.
It is fun to visit Pang Yu Tai Tea House. The owner is a man with special character, so is the shop. Without special changes, the shop will continues in its present situation in the years to come. Special thank should also be given to Mr. Lee, for his maintenace of this shop and building. If not, the history of Hong Kong, particularly in tea business, cannot be completed.
