Aberdeen Old Main Street is one of the several streets which are really built on non-reclaimed land, it is also one of the oldest streets in Aberdeen. In the past, beyond Aberdeen Main Road (香港仔大道), it was already sea area. In the 1920s, with the Aberdeen coastline reclamation westward to Chengdu Road (成都道) area, Aberdeen Old Main Street was still one of the main streets of the district.
The role of Aberdeen Old Main Street as the main road of traffic in Aberdeen is replaced by Aberdeen Main Road.
