In the past, Ngau Tau Kok Road is a street along the seashore. It was the first street connecting Kowloon Penisula and the newly developed Kwun Tong (觀塘) at that time. To cope with the increasing number of residents and industrial buildings in the area, a large scale land reclamation in Kowloon Bay (九龍灣), Ngau Tau Kok (牛頭角) and Kwun Tong was needed. www.isletforum.com Kwun Tong Road, wider than Ngau Tau Kok Road, was constructed on the reclaimed land. Ngau Tau Kok Road now becomes an inland street.

Ngau Tau Kok Road starts at Hong Ning Road (康寧道) and ends at Kwun Tong Road, near Tak Po Garden (得寶花園). In the 1950s, there were industrial buildings along Ngau Tau Kok Road. But now it is mainly residential.
