Nam Sang Waiis a large piece of mango-shaped wetland to the north of Yuen Long, which is in the New Territoriesof Hong Kong. It is bordered by Shan Pui Riverand Kam Tim River. Nam Sang Wai was formerly fish pond and marsh. But because of change in population and economic structures in Hong Kong, this piece of land is no longer productive and a supply of fishes, vegetables and crops.

It is now a large piece of wetland and grassland, and becomes a paradise for countryside lovers and photographers during weekends. It is also a home of flowers and birds.

1 Start - Tin Fung Bicycle

We pass by Yuen Long MTR Station. It is suggested not to ride on the pavement.

2 - Wong Uk Tsuen

After '3 - Ho Chau Road', we are now in '4 - Nam Sang Wai Road' already.

Those birds commonly found in Nam Sang Wai are pictured here.

Along Nam Sang Wai Road, there is a large piece of grassland. It is of course a natural and fantastic picnic area.

On the western part of Nam Sang Wai, the path is for both walking and cycling.

It is highly recommended to ride in Nam Sang Wai. The whole journey takes about three hours, including cycling, photo-taking and rest.

There are two stores offering drink and food at this point. This is the way to the pier of '6 - Jetty'.

The pier of village feel.

The small boat is used to ferry visitors across this small river. If there are a lot of visitors, they have to queue up for a while (like them in the opposite bank). From here, it takes about fifteen minutes to Yuen Long by walk.
