Chung Shing Kung - Yuen Long (元朗眾聖宮) is a temple in Yuen Kong Village (元崗村) in Yuen Long. The
temple was built in Ming Dynasty, large scale renovations were carried
out in 1922 and 1972, with the addition of cemented wall. Hau Wong (侯王)
and Pak Tai (北帝) are worshiped in the temple. Chung
Shing Kung is a private temple. Without funding by the government,
Chung Shing Kung looks a bit shabby. It is like one of the old houses in
the village.
After searching in the internet, it is found that
there is only one Chung Shing Kung in Hong Kong. This means Yuen Long
Chung Shing Kung is the only Chung Shing Kung in Hong Kong.
Thought it is a private temple, it is open
to public. It is very dark inside the temple. It seems that maintenance
is kept in the minimum level.
There should be no renovation for a long time. Painting on roof decoration has been faded. The whole temple is still intact.
