Tung
Lung Island is a small island located off tip of Clear Water Bay
Peninsula in the New Territories of Hong Kong, or is at the south
eastern part in Hong Kong map. There are not too many sight-seeing spots
on the island. But for an island not too far away from the urban area and to spend a day in
hiking and leisure, Tung Lung Island should be a very nice place.
During weekends, two Kai-to ferry services are available from Lei Yue
Mun and Sai Wan Ho to Tung Lung Island. We select Lam Kee Ferry from Sai
Wan Ho Typhoon Shelter.
The journey takes about thirty minutes, returned fee is HK$30. It is
much cheaper and faster than the journey from Central to Lantau Island.
Before long, we have arrived at Tung Lung Island.
Next to the pier, there is a Hung Shing Temple.
It is a small temple, but neatly maintained. It is better not to take photos inside the temple.
Overlooking the rafts from a high point above the pier.
Eagle Beak Rock is one of the points to be visited.
The channel is called Fat Tong Mun, while the opposite side is Clear Water Bay Country Park.
The shore is natural and beautful.
Nice and serene beach
Lighthouse.
This channel is quite 'busy'.
Pine forest
Some villagers are still living on the island.
