Hong Kong Museum of Medical
Sciences (香港醫學博物館) was established in 1996. It is located at 2 Caine
Lane, Mid-levels, Hong Kong Island (香港島半山堅巷2號). The museum is a 3-storey
British construction, with prominent reddish brown brick colour. After
renovation and maintenance, it retains its glory of the past. The museum
is very attractive, mainly because of its bright colour and
construction outlook of style different from its surroundings.
The
establishment of this museum is to preserve materials and tools related
to medical industry and its development in Hong Kong. It also arouses
the interest of general public about health and diseases.

This building was built in 1906.
The building was declared a monument in 1990. It was handed over to the Hong Kong Museum of Medical
Sciences Society and converted to a museum for the public in 1995.
The building occupies a total 930 square meters.

The museum is very close to Blake Garden (卜公花園) and Po Hing Fong (普慶坊). The building is very noticeable in brown red colour.
