Yuchanglou (裕昌樓), a 5 storeys tulou (earth building), was built in 1308.
It
has a nickname 'zigzag building' (東倒西歪樓), because the vertical wooden
post structure is not straight and perpendicular, but zigzag left and
right.
This small building at the center with open front served
as an ancestral hall for ancestry worshipping, festivals, meetings,
weddings, funerals and other ceremonial functions.
The rooftop was covered with baked clay tiles, arranged radially.
