Man
Mo Temple (文武廟) was built on Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan in 1847. Like
all other Man Mo Temples found in China and all over the world, it was
dedicated to two of the most worshiped gods in ancient China, namely the
God of Literature, Man Cheung, and the God of War, Kwan Yu.
The
two gods were popularly patronized by scholars and students seeking
progress in their study or ranking in the civil examinations in the Ming
and Qing dynasties. This is the main entrance of Man Mo Temple.
Besides Man Mo Temple, it is Lit Shing Temple (列聖宫) which is for the worship of all heavenly gods.
The temple is managed by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
Opening Hours: 8:00am to 6:00pm daily.
