Along So Kwun Wat Tsuen Road (掃管笏村路), we can clearly see a Tin Hau Temple at an evevated level. Its overall look is blocked by trees. Normally, Tin Hau Temple was built near the seashore or lake. There was no reclamation in the area. But this temple is a bit far away from shore and there is no lake nearby. It is said that because the relation between Chan's and Lee's Clans was once not very harmonious, Chan's clan decided to move the temple inland and closer to Chan's Ancestral Hall. Chan's clan was the largest clan among the three. This explains why Tin Hau Temple of So Kwun Wat Tsuen is far away from the sea.
Outside the temple, it was decorated by colourful flags, which are waving in the breeze.
Normally, the villagers pray for the following.
'國泰民安/合家平安' - prosperous state and its people at peace.
'風調雨順' - favorable weather, timely wind and rain.
It should have been newly renovated within a couple of years, I guess. There is a metallic golden-colored incense burner in front of the temple.
The temple looks very impressive and eye-catching. This temple should have a history of more than 100 years.
Besides Tin Hau Deity, two other deities are also worshipped.
This is the door construction inside the temple.
Since it is newly renovated, the overall temple looks bright and clean.
In front of the temple, it is the minibus (number 43) teminus to Tuen Mun Town Centre.
