Yeungs Marine Products Ltd. (楊氏水產) @ Yuen Long 元朗

Yeungs Marine Products Ltd. is one of the companies in Mai Po Nature Reserve (米埔濕地), practising freshwater fish farming in Hong Kong.

It should have serveral ponds to practise fish farming.

This is one of the entrances.

The voluntary "Accredited Fish Farm Scheme 優質養魚場計劃 " has been launched by Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (漁農自然護理署) to assist local fish farmers to increase the competitiveness of their aquaculture products and to provide quality and safe aquaculture products to the public. Its specific aims are as follows:-

1. To enhance the quality of local aquaculture products by introducing "Good Aquaculture Practices" to local fish farms;
2. To increase transparency of production process by standardization of processes in order to gain consumer confidence in local aquaculture products;
3. To highlight the safety of local aquaculture products by introducing pre-marketing product tests; and
4. To make local aquaculture products stand out by branding.

Each pond is well-managed.

Apart from the natural exchange of air, there are several air-pumps in each pond to increase the oxygen content.

For a look and photo-taking, it is definitely picturesque.

At the moment, there are mainly four fishes, they are Grey Mullet (烏頭), Spotted scat (金鼓), Giant grouper (龍躉, 花尾躉, 石斑) and Jade Perch (寶石魚). These fishes are generally available in fish markets in Hong Kong.
