Ma Wan Pier (also known as Sham Tseng Kaito Pier, Ma Wan Kaito Pier and Anglers' Beach Pier) is a pier in Tsuen Wan, adjacent to the Lido Garden (麗都花園) and Sea Crest Villa (浪翠園).
As early as 1953, there was kaito between Ma
Wan and Sham Tseng, the pier was therefore named as Ma Wan Pier. As the
Tsing Ma Bridge was completed in 1997, Ma Wan can be accessed by
vehicles, Kaito passenger volume fell sharply. Kaito was formally
cancelled
in May 2005.
This new Ma Wan Pier was constructed in early 2000, but the old one was retained as a popular spot of anglers.
At the back, it is the old Ma Wan Kaito Pier.
It is also a nice place for phototaking and killing time.
The white buildings are Lido Garden.
