Nam Kok Road is a street in Kowloon City, between Prince Edward Road West (太子道西) and Carpenter Road (賈炳達道). It is parallel to Lung Kong Road (龍崗道).
On Nam Road Road, there are particularly more old buildings of three to four storeys. On the even numbers of Nam Kok Road, from No. 34 to 62, they all are constructions of four storeys, built in 1952 and 1953. The are 62 and 63 years old in 2015.
The roof tops should be illegal constructions. It was a common place in the 1960s.
This is a closer look from the ground level.
These are the odd numbers of Nam Kok Road, from 43 to 73. They were built in 1952, i.e. they are 63 years old in 2015. They are also buildings of four storeys.
There is a big contrast with the tall buildings at the back.
Though they are older than 60 years, they still look very good. All units are inhabited.
There was a pawn shop here. This Hing Cheong Pawn Shop (興昌大押) cannot be found in the internet.
It is interesting to find so many blocks of old building together, in 2015. This is not common in other districts.
The outer wall of all buildings is still good. At least, it does not give me an impression that it is going to collapse suddenly.
Please note that the portion above the pavement for these buildings (from 48 to 56 Nam Kok Road) is a bit shorter comparatively. They are different from other buildings of similar age on this street.
The green & white building on the left is Mei Tak House (美德樓) of Mei Tung Street.
This is the junction of Nam Kok Road and Nga Tsin Wai Road (衙前圍道). The buildings in cream colour were built in 1964 and 1965.
