Strictly
speaking, Ngan Hang Village is only a cluster of several cemented
houses in the location of Ngan Hang Village in the map. I guess those
people we see in our hiking should not be living in Ngan Hang Village
permanently. It is only a place for them to spend their holidays or
weekends or ... .
Ngan Hang Village is in fact a spot in our
hiking to Dragon's Back and Hong Kong Trail (Stage 7). But it is not
commonly recorded in the internet, it is needed to record and introduce
to blogmates.
We hike at Dragon's Back initially. Thereafter, we hike along the Stage 7 of Hong Kong Trail, passing by Ngan Hang Village. Finally, we leave at Tai Tam Road. It takes totally about five hours.
From here, we cross the road and head to To Tei Wan (土地灣).
Hi, nice to meet you.
Tai Tam Reservoir (大潭水塘), Tai Tam Harbour (大潭港), and Lan Nai Wan (爛泥灣).
This route should be available for many years, from the route surface appearance. This is Hong Kong Trail (Stage 7).
Overlooking Redhill Peninsula (紅山半島).
This is Ngan Hang Village, it is only a small beach with several cemented houses.
It is a piece of flat beach, it should not be suitable for swimming.
It should also be a place for boating or canoeing or other water sports.
These are the cemented houses mentioned before.
This should be the Ngan Hang, which means silvery nullah.
With the sky reflection at night, its colour should look silvery.
After staying in Ngan Hang Villlage for half an hour, we continue our hiking to Tai Tam Road.
Stage 7 of Hong Kong Trail is basically this Tai Tam East Catch Water. It is quite easy for hikers of all levels.
It
is the first time hiking on Stage 7 of Hong Kong Trail. It is an easy
and refreshing trail, particularly when we notice there is such a small
beach - Ngan Hang Village. But selfish and inconsiderate tenants allow
fierce dogs to guard their habitats, this must be (has been) complained,
and hazardous to hikers. At Ngan Hang Village (銀坑村), no fierce dogs are available and block the route. But for other villages nearby, please be careful and pay extra attention.
