Tseng Lan Shue (井欄樹) is a small village in Sai Kung. It is located about 1 mile east of Fei Ngo Shan along the Clear Water Bay Road, and not far from Pik Uk. The village crosses Clear Water Bay Road and has about 250 settlements. There are some shops on the roadside and a small river (? or creek) through the village.

The Ancestral Hall is recorded to be built in 1829 (in Qing Dynasty), it therefore has a history of 186 years in 2015. Though it is a one-storey construction, it is very outstanding from the surrounding houses as it is very bright and new.

The hall should have been renovated recently. It looks very new and should be a new product within a couple of years.

The main entrance of ancestral hall, which has only one gateway.

It is also called Ho Nam Tong (河南堂). It is not too large in size. It should have an area of about 60 square feet, I guess.

There is no person in charge inside the hall at the time of our visit. The hall should be tidied up regularly.

Each part of the construction should have been carefully designed. The roof tiles should not be the traditional one.

Can you see the Chinese characters under the bar?

Though it has been newly renovated, the Chinese traditional design and art work, like flower and phoenix, are still adopted.

This painting of flowers (peony) and birds on tiles should not be missed. Much time and effort must have been spent in the painting. It has a meaning of bringing 'wealth and social position' to the villagers.
