I do not think that the roast goose in the mainland is of good taste. Most of them in my experience are horrible in taste, even though the mainlanders have instant access to fresh goose. They do not know how to cook a roast goose with high quality (good taste), what they can do at most is to make them fully cooked. For freshness, maybe the roast goose in Hong Kong is a bit inferior. Overall speaking, the cooking skill and overall taste are very much better. In my mind, Yat Lok in Central, and Tin Hung in Yuen Long are highly recommended.
Only every Hong Kong family can prepare fresh cake daily. What the others can do is to buy cakes in the market, with good taste and comparable freshness. Therefore, the Garden cake is the choice of most Hong Kong people.
